Mini Course: Black Histories of the Northern Plains

This free PBS production is a 4-part series of stories chronicling the lives of early Black settlers to Minnesota and the Dakotas. Each video is approximately 7-8 minutes in length. An engaging, interesting, and informative series that supports social studies in a wide range of grade levels!

The episodes in this series are each aligned to state standards. There are accompanying discussion questions in a variety of depth, easily adaptable for a variety of grade levels. Additionally, there are options for sharing through Google Classroom or with direct student links. And, a guide to building a lesson is also provided.
